Training With a Global Reach
The CNS started in 1992 with 14 faculty and 33 trainees, and we now support 24 faculty and almost 150 trainees. Over the past 30 years, our faculty have received 184 awards, including mentorship awards for over 50% of our faculty. Our labs have been very busy, publishing a whopping 2,000 manuscripts and chapters since 1992!

This level of research productivity requires a very talented and large village. Over the past 30 years, the CNS has trained 334 young scientists, including 166 students and 168 postdocs. Of these 334 alumni, about 10% are still in training, ~60% have positions in academia and about ~25% are in industry (see map below). A database of all of the graduate students and postdocs who trained in CNS labs over the past 30 years is posted in our directory, and we hope that it will be helpful for our trainees to explore as they start to develop the networks that will launch their careers.
