The overall goal of my research is to determine the general principles of how activity and molecular cues during development guide the establishment and refinement of connectivity between neurons in the brain.

Currently I am focusing my study on patterns of activity in the retina during development and what exact role, if any, this activity plays in the correct maturation of the visual system.
